Steering wheel question
I am installing an ididit column in a 68 c10 and was wondering what kind of steering wheels you all were using and what dish feels comfortable in one of these truck. I believe the 73-87 wheel design is supposed to bolt right up to the ididit. I'd like to have something aftermarket but have no idea what kind of dish I will need. When I bought the trick it just had a cheapo junker on it so I really don't have anything to go by. Thanks for any and all help.

A friend put a wheel from con2r.com and it looked pretty sweet in his '71 I plan to do the same and may color match the wheel to the truck color

Any GM wheel up to the time they went to the airbags [and later for that matter] will fit on there. a very popular wheel is the sport wheel from S-10's and Silverados around the 88-94 time frame. Jim

The fatter I get the smaller these trucks get inside. The more dish the steering wheel has the closer it is to my belly. I have a wood rim Grant wheel in my '71 GMC. I'm not crazy about the way it looks but it's small diameter and flat and the reach is very comfortable for me. I have this 3 spoke wheel in the Blazer. The dish in the wheel doesn't bother me because the Dodge buddy bucket seat is farther from the dash. I bought a refurbished tilt column from a member on this site since the picture was taken.

The 3 spoke grant wheel looked good to me but I was afraid with a 4 1/8" dish it would be uncomfortable. I'm a skinny guy though so maybe that would be my best bet.
