Radio delete plate
I have a radio delete plate that I want to use until I decide what kind of radio if any, that I want to put in the truck. The problem is, I don't have the plugs/bolts/fitting that keep in place and I've been unable to locate them on any of the usual sites that I frequent. Any ideas?

You can use carriage bolts. You can get stainless and polish them or regular, sand the head smooth and paint them. I have done it both ways. It also works to fill extra holes on the firewall.

yup, carriage bolts. for an authentic look flatten them off on top when you grind the markings off. Factory looks more like a flat coin than a bump.
I have two plate in my parts horde but both have become separated from the hardware that was with them. |

I used panel magnets on mine; holds great.

I like the look of an original radio, so I bought all the plastic bits and made a dummy to fit in the dash
 To cold to work out in the shop, so I've been looking at youtube videos of 'headless car audio' systems that run off your cell phone. I'd be interested in hearing what you come up with for a sound system in your truck. |

Something like this is always an option - Bluetooth integrated directly into the amp, controlled by your phone. No head unit necessary.

That's pretty much what I had been thinking about.
I've not done a car audio system for 15 years, and a lot has changed. but 1500W for $80 is kind of wild. The fine print says that it is 100W RMS. At one time Blaupunkt was owned by Bosch, but it seems like thier stuff is built in China these days. Lots of equipment out there with some big claims, so need to start my due dilegence |
