I know the trend these days is to have your rear in the weeds, but I personally prefer the raked look. If your truck is lowered all around... more power to you. Some say having the rear jacked up affects handling... maybe so. But I've ridden in enough lowered trucks that can't go over speed bumps, and the wheels rub the fenders anytime we're not traveling in a straight line, so I think I'm going back to the classic raked look.

Do Chevelle's count? I too am a little (ok a lot) partial to the slight rake look. The current trend to have em flat and low really looks cool to me, but for my stuff, gotta have a little bit of rake.
Nothing against the low, level, stuff. Looks sweet. But for me, for now, old school baby.

The bed on my step side is off a 73-87 square body. I widened it 6 inches to fit over the dual wheels. Yes I have the steps for it. They were ratty old chrome so I am blasting em before I paint em.

Here is our 68, its the ECE kit on it which is like the 3/5, I like the raked look on it fits perfect with the look of the truck.

I like the rake look. In fact, if I were painting a solid with a white top, the rake would look great. But I'm running with two-tone deluxe, which IMO looks better dropped.

Trend? What's that? Is that a thing people who don't know what they like need to follow? Follow your own path and be a true individual.

The raked look is the traditional look of hi-performance (like back when these trucks were made). It also suggests the truck can actually haul a load.

The level look is the look of a cruisin' custom. Yeah, I know people run autocross these days and that is performance, too. But talk about a fish out of water. I can think of hundreds of better vehicle for that. On the strip (the kind of performance I'm talking about) a truck can hold it's own, and that's what the raked look suggests. Narrowed rear/tub jobs didn't come around till more recently, allowing a lower level racer, along with 4-link hooking up better, and better tires. The idea of the rake is the front end lifts off the line and levels the vehicle while tossing weight to the rear tires.

Here's mine with a 2.5" drop in the front and 2" drop in the rear. I'm a child of the 60's & 70's and have always like this look. Mine is still raked and it can still haul a load....or ass.

That truck isn't mine. (It's for sale... has a 468 big block in it).

The tires are 275/60R 15's and 215/65R15s on the red truck.

I'm running 275's and 245's on mine (17 inch rims currently)
