"I Can't Wait Till..."

Finish that title for me.

Ok, I'm aware we don't want to go around wishing our lives away wishing for what isn't. Life is about right now and we have to make what we can with that. It's better to find the good in all situations than to want for what can not be. Need to hear any more worldly advise or do you want to finish that title? I can't wait till...

... I get the work done on my house and start putting time in on my trucks.

... I get in my next place with a shop.

... someone else posts.

I don't have to get home from work and study. One more CPA exam to pass and I'll be done with studying for awhile

Re: "I Can't Wait Till..."

Can't wait till spring for sure.

Can't wait just to get that feeling most of winter is behind us. I love that time of year, late winter/early spring. Like when the crocus sprout. It could still snow but it won't stay around long. It's time to get a jump on spring.

Re: "I Can't Wait Till..."

Spring for sure. Not so much summer here. It gets real hot in the desert.

I cant wait till I get my garage cleaned up. I sold my pool table to make room for 3 cars and the space was quickly filled up by cardboard boxes. I buy a lot of stuff on the internet so I get a lot of boxes and my trash cans can't handle them. I burn some and give some away but I still can't keep up.

I've got another big box coming today. Mt new Traeger smoker. 146 lbs. The FedEx guy is going to love me. More cardboard in the garage.

Re: "I Can't Wait Till..."

Can't wait until I get a new toilet installed so the wife will stop bi...ing at me. She has trouble getting up from it, standard height.
I must look pretty weak to some, not a picture of health. I just bought a new toilet and the young girl at the checkout asked me 3 times if I needed help loading it. I assured her I did not need any help. Once at the rear of my 4wd truck I wondered myself. I made it. The box was well over 100 #.
They used to come in two boxes.

^ My son works at a big box hardware store. People were buying a water heater and couldn't get it on the cart. They sent him over; he gave it a bear hug and put it on their cart...then got called to the front of the store to load it in their vehicle. How are they going to get it out, and installed?

This reminds me of what happens when I go to the big orange or blue. I'll be loading 80# bags of concrete mix into my truck and someone, employee or not, will walk up and ask if I need a hand. My reply is, "If you want to help, follow me to the job and help me carry all this down the hill around back of the house. Then mix it, pour it, and trowel it. Loading is easy"

So true. This same son should come and help with that. He was working as a handyman at college and was carrying 2 60-Lb sacks of concrete at a time up the steps out of the basement. I would have to wonder why it was stored in the basement?

There's a scene in the movie "Second Hand Lions" where they are loading the big bags of Purina Lion Chow into the truck and the Robert Duvall character is putting the kids to shame.

I think of that often, especially when I am buying chicken feed or water softener salt.

For a few years there I used to jump down out of the truck and, with a flourish, holler "...pushin' 60 BABEE!!".

Now that I'm over 60 I'm not quite sure what to say.

By way of explanation - these are the lyrics to Steely Dan's "New Frontier".

Just in case my humor is too obscure or discreet for internet consumption.
