Re: What tool do we no longer need ?

Only reason I bought it it was 75% off at Tractor supply . I did end up using it on some black pipe at my rental house

I meant a 4 way lug wrench ,that I have ,,but it is only a 14 inch one,, If I had a bigger one ,,then I could probably get the lug nuts turned ,,BUT,, a 20 volt impact can do more than just lug nuts ,,(not decided yet to buy one or not) I am all over the place with my thoughts of what I want and what need anymore ,,maybe it's my age ..

My wife bought me this church key. I collect them but really never use them. It's from the Concord Hotel (resort?) in the Catskills. Ever heard of it Mark?

I'm going to have my knife guy polish it up. He's good. And replace the missing Rhinestone.

It's heavy.

Aint it somethin. I've got a bunch of them but they are all the stamped steel with different logo's on them. I've never seen one like this. I think it'll look good when my buddy gets done with it. He's a real perfectionist. He restores antiques and you can't tell. They still look old but they look really good.

I'll never use it. I collect bottle openers too and I like them much more.

I have a friend that bites the tops off of beer bottles. It gives me the creeps. I'm waiting for him to bust a tooth but he never does.

I've have actually stayed there in the late 60s and 70s. My dad worked for Metropolitan ins and they had conferences there where the Employes would do workshops and meetings and the families would enjoy the resort

Yeah but I like the wall mount ones better. The church key ones are fussy.

I don't know how anybody can open a bottle with their eye? I did go to a place once called the Fox Inn in Pasadena and the owner (Fox) would stand on his head and drink a pitcher of beer in seconds. He was later on The Man Show.

It might not have been a pitcher. It could have been a big mug. But he would empty it right out upside down.

I keep a painter's tool in my truck to open gourmet soda pop. You know, the thing they give you when you buy paint with a bottle opener at one end (how long since we needed that for paint products?) and a paint can opener at the other. Those can be tedious opening a bee...or I mean pop. Beats using my eye socket, though. My straight claw hammer works better. But I even have antique painter's tools with obscure paint company names on them. I'm with you on the wall mounts. I have a Squirt one mounted by the fridge in the kitchen, a coke in my screen house, and another in my barn shop.

Re: What tool do we no longer need ?

I have and use the paint can/bottle opener all the time. If I can't find it, I have to use wire cutters, and that's dangerous. I've chipped the edge of the bottle that way. Had to pour the pop through a cheesecloth to avoid shards.

Re: What tool do we no longer need ?

I remember that, Larry. pre-73s, most of them, had bumpers you could open a bottle between the fender and bumper. I never noticed all the cars that should have a dent there.

Here we are on the 67-72 Chevy Trucks site talking about opening bottles and haven't mentioned the wonderfully designed 68-72 seat belts that are actually retractable bottle openers.

I used to use the female end of older GM seat belts to open bottles. I still do it with "Blues" belt...
