Meet "Forman", a 1967 C10 LB

I started buying this truck back in January, and had lots of questions about 67's.

Here's the story.

My co-worker saw a post for this truck and thought
I would be interested. When he went to show me the post , it was deleted. He is friends with him on FB, so he messaged him. He said it was still for sale, even though he took it down.

WE struck a deal, and I was supposed to meet him the next day. He ghosted me at the time to meet, wouldn't answer a text or phone call. This was Thursday.
On Wednesday, he saw the truck at a thrift shop that resales anything, and told the owner I was supposed to buy the truck for $$$. The thrift shop owner said he bought it without a title, for $$$, and if I was interested , he would sell it to me for the price I was originally going to buy it for from the first guy. We met , I paid him and he delivered the truck (2mi) for free to my work.

Went to empty all of the trash out of the truck after waiting a few weeks , and found the title to the truck in the truck. Ran the guy's name, and found out he passed away in 2011 in Virginia.

So Fast forward, finally get it home 2 weeks ago, had to get bonded title, but it's in my name. It's about 90% original - replaced seat, door panels and armrests.

Purchase price? 1k.

Not necessarily a build thread, just going to go through it and make it drivable again.

It changed hands at least 5 times that I have been able to count, and no one went to get a bonded title for it in around 15 years.

I believe it came with 250, 3 OTT, 3.73, heater delete - white with red trim interior.

Has typical rust, rockers etc.

Box B title, so 130k original miles.

Very cool '67 for xxx. Every truck has a story. You got some of it. So it's heat delete as well as masking tape delete . I know, that can be dealt with easily enough. I hope it's crappy paint for you. People are weird. They guy ghosts you, then turns around and dumps it, most likely, for less. Probably because he didn't want to deal with FB weirdos

Ever since I was interested in these trucks, I wanted a 67. Funny, this one was first registered the month and year I was born.

Congrats! It would be awesome to see it back to its original white/red glory. That’s an awesome combo in 67.

I look at it this way, I'm pretty sure they didn't use any filler on the body. I can still see where they could of used some and smoothed out the body lines, but didn't.

The passenger sides windows are both plexiglass, that is why they just sprayed them.

Nice score, Warren. Now why would the seller ditch you and then turn around and dump it at a thrift store? Did he sell it for less than you offered?
Anyway, great deal. Not too many straight '67s left. Are you keeping the 250 L6?
Good luck on your new project.

Yes, he sold it for less because I was asking for the title. I don't know if he knew the title was even in the truck.

As for keeping it I6, I would like to get it running and driving first.

Re: Meet "Forman", a 1967 C10 LB

Nothing wrong with a 250-six for running around town doing truck stuff, especially with a 3.73 axle. Heck, for a while I drove an 82 with a worn out 250 and a 2.73 axle.

I hope the column shifter works OK, because some of the parts are hard to find. However, you probably can get parts for the transmission itself, like seals and shift forks. At least that was the case with my 82. It's the column parts and linkage parts that are tough to find.

If you ever want to upgrade to a V-8, the conversion is pretty straightforward. And you'll get lots of help here.

FYI, I think you meant to call the truck "Foreman", right?
