Similar to post 290. I read a thread where someone suggested "DD" stands for "delivery date." The way the plate is stamped, the factory would have had to have stamped it (unless the dealership re-riveted it with correct rivets?), so I'm counting it as a build date until someone more knowledgeable can explain the process. 72 Blazer 2F181311 = 6/72 (post 302, Blazer) Last edited by 402Bowtie; 12-18-2021 at 04:00 PM. |

Re: The build date project
In updating my list on post 50 today, I realized we are limited to 50,000 characters per post. Therefore, I have split my list into two lists: GMC's on post 63 and Chevy's on post 64. Both are updated through post 302.
Tyler--you'll be running into the same problem soon too. FYI (Edit: on second thought, you may be ok for a while. I think my hyperlinks are eating up my 50k-character allowance.) __________________________________ 69 chevy 9A841095 = 01/01/69 - 01/16/69 = (post 303) 72 Blazer 2F132X76 = pre-12/27/71 (post 303, Blazer) 71 chevy 1J636456 = 5/71 (post 303) 72 Chevy 2S150971 = 01/11/72 - 01/24/72 (post 303) 72 Blazer 2F177399 = 6/72 (post 303, Blazer) Last edited by 402Bowtie; 12-20-2021 at 02:52 PM. |

Re: The build date project
After today's updates, it appears the last 2S Blazer was produced at the end of March '72. I'd be curious if anyone can find a Blazer with serial number higher than 2S174000. Anyone have one?

Re: The build date project
Adding these for easy reference. Even though the site I found this is a chevelle site, much of the info seems to apply to our trucks.
Tyler, I updated two serial numbers as a result of the info below: 01121369 & 0F128831. 68 chevy 8S215655 = 07/03/68 - 07/31/68 (post 311) 72 chevy 21158907 = 06/14/72 - 06/16/72 (post 311) This was already on the list, but better picture and more detail this time. That's great--thanks for posting! The protecto plate is most helpful. Built sometime in April after 103rd day of the year (April 12).

Re: The build date project
1970 Chevy K10 - Tarrytown NY. 0T101909. It was built somewhere between 8/18/69 and 9/30/69. I have a photo of a metal tag secured to the back frame of the bench seat that is dated 8-18-69. (Is this a known "usual" thing?) I also have the original bill of sale when the owner bought it from the dealer in Rome NY on 9/30/69. That pretty much brackets things!

Re: The build date project
I have a question for you. Do you want us to submit the paperwork for our own trucks or send it to someone?

Sorry I have no idea of build date, but have I found the first Baltimore 72 GMC for the list? Photo is from glove compartment door that’s for sale.

Re: The build date project
Found this interesting. Here is a 4/71 Flint built truck on BAT that has matching vin # on the frame, SPID, and metal door tag. However the blue decal on the door has the next consecutive vin # printed on it. Could it be a two trucks were ordered by the same company, or individual and they got the decals mixed up? I don’t think this would have passed inspection?
