Re: Gas Prices?

I got out today and now it's back down to $3.19. That's up and down twice in one week. I guess pricing is daily now

Well I made a Trip to HF today.

My Go to Gas station was $2.99 yesterday.

Now $2.93 today.

Then I pass the one close to Harbor Freight.

It is $2.77

Re: Gas Prices?

Most of them are $3.09, with a few as low as $3.05. I haven't been near a station that sells the 15% methanol (Sheetz) (88 octane) stuff lately, but it's typically lower a little.
It seems like the percentage of difference is related to the price of the gasoline itself. The higher it is, the greater the discount, which makes sense. The gas is the expensive part. I have seen it as much as 30 cents lower or as little as 10 cents.

Re: Gas Prices?

We're nudging it down close to $3.00 here, too. I paid $3.08 yesterday. It went down from $3.19 in two steps last week

Re: Gas Prices?

I was out today to visit my aging mother. She lives on her own at the age of 80, since my dad passed a few years ago.
The Sheetz station where I filled up was $2.97 for regular 87 octane, and $2.67 for the 88 octane E85.

Re: Gas Prices?

It's been a month since the last update. Our lowest now is $2.84 while most others in town are $2.99 to $3.09. Quite a spread.
Opec is cutting production so prices are going up.

Re: Gas Prices?

Well Boog

That reminds me

I took some pictures Friday because I thought this was an early Aprils fool joke.

I stopped at Speedway to get gas and I look at the pump it reads $3.249

The Big sign in the air that I check to make sure my Rewards card scanned correctly reads $2.499

I started to go inside but I knew what the results would be

Re: Gas Prices?

Here in Can. April 1 is when the new taxes come out from the Gov. so everything dear to me went up beer and gas which means with the gas price hike food and everything else will go up. Why doesn,t the Gov. take a pay cut and quit taking expensive trips and and then have a 5 min. meeting to make it a official right off at our expense

Boog, With the OPEC production cut it's just another indication Saudi Arabia and like countries ARE NOT our friends, despite what people want to think. Their lavish life style is sustained by the oil fields that were found and developed by the US oil companies in the early '50s. If not for that they would all still be riding camels and living in tents.

Last I looked we were $3.0 to $3.09, that won't last long I'm sure.

Re: Gas Prices?

Holding tight at $4.99 a gallon for 87 ethanol cr@p. Hasn't gone up or down for a while. I didn't look at the price of diesel. I've still got 3/4 of a tank in my truck. I'm trying to stretch that out.

3 stations near each other were up $.10 this morning while another one was up $.15. This is all just nonsense.

It's simple. You have money and they want it.

Just like my crooked contractor. He screwed up the job, ran up hours charging me for his mistake and gave himself a five buck an hour raise in the meantime without asking.

He didn't get the raise. I fired him. Now he gets nothing.

Unfortunately we can't do that at the pump.

Yup, we're back up over 5.00 again. they're blaming it on the shut down of production b'cuz they have to ramp up the 'summer blend' what a crock of.....

I have been fortunate in that the small jobs I've needed done around my house that I can't do myself ( concrete slab, siding up high etc ) I have had good contractors that work at very reasonable prices. I even added additional concrete work and the guy barely charged me more because he said the truck was bringing it anyway.

Gas prices ALMOST have me wanting to buy an electric car but then again my electric generation prices just went up. I swear we just can't win.

We're now almost as bad as CA in Phoenix. I think 87 is at $4.49 a gallon. So much for this city being affordable.
