I had a BIL who made Moonshine out in Oregon and "ME" being 16 at the time ,,knew some about him making it and ask him if I could get a quart jar of it ,, He didnt give me a jar of it ,,but a sip .. it was 100 proof and like to burned the skin right out of my mouth ,, I cannot to this day guess why anyone would like taking gulps of that from a quart jar and saying it sure is good,

He got cought and it cost him his 59 Chevy car and his some year ford Truck as he hauled it across state line in- law ..but he and went on to do some very interesting fun things on the Lopez Island with his fish salmon fish buying ..and I helped..

Just about anyone can make moonshine, but not everyone can make "good" moonshine...
I don't drink much alcohol of any kind anymore, but we used to get some really good "apple pie" moonshine from a guy up in the "hills" of East TN.

There also lived a famous, or infamous, moonshiner nearby here.

I must have had some of the not so good stuff. It was just flat out nasty. I don't need to catch a buzz that bad.

I guess it's like hot sauce. Yesterday we went out for Mexican food. My wife got the mild salsa and I got the hot.

The hot salsa was just that. Really hot. It was hot but it did not taste good at all. No flavor. The mild sauce was much better. The salsa I make will light your mouth on fire but it tastes really good too.

It's all about getting it right.

100% truth

this thread has really gone South from the initial topic......
but perhaps we have reached the conclusion that gasoline and moonshine will continue to be available for the foreseeable future....

Are we going to talk about grits and fried green tomato's next?

You are right. Gasoline and Moonshine aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Heck they sell moonshine at the grocery store now. Right next to the place where you can get Marijuana. The only difference is now you pay taxes on it.

This EV thing is just a push to scare people into buying new cars and make money.

What do you think the annual registration and sales tax are on a $100,000+ Tesla?

It's just yet another way to pick the consumers pocket.

I miss squirrel dumplin stew. We used to shoot them, clean them and drop them off with my grandma when I was a kid in VA. She made the magic happen.

Re: How much longer will we have Gasoline for Our

There's a big, brown cloud in the city

And the countryside's a sin
The price of life is too high to give up
It's gotta come down again
The world wide war is over and done
And the dream of peace comes true
We'll all be drinkin' that free bubble-ubb
And eatin' that rainbow stew
When they find out how to burn water

And the gasoline car is gone
When an airplane flies without any fuel
And the satellite heats our home
But one of these days when the air clears up
And the sun comes shinin' through
We'll all be drinkin' that free bubble-ubb
And eatin' that rainbow stew
Eatin' rainbow stew in a silver spoon

Underneath that sky of blue
We'll all be drinkin' that free bubble-ubb
And eatin' that rainbow stew
You don't have to get high to get happy

Just think about what's in store
When people start doin' what they oughta be doin'
Then they won't be booin' no more
When a President goes through the White House door
Does what he says he'll do
We'll all be drinkin' that free bubble-ubb
And eatin' that rainbow stew
Eatin' rainbow stew in a silver spoon

Underneath that sky of blue
We'll all be drinkin' that free bubble-ubb
And eatin' that rainbow stew
Eatin' rainbow stew in a silver spoon
Underneath that sky of blue
We'll all be drinkin' free bubble-ubb
And eatin' that rainbow stew

sorry…for being a party to that…it
reminds of the game where someone starts a phrase at one end of the line and each person passes what they heard to the next person
it’s never anywhere close to the original phrase…

Oil could be around for a very long time if some folks have their way.
The Georgia Guidestones expains how just 500 million people for the entire planet is the right number.

Talk about thread drift...armadillos can carry Leprosy. I wouldn't eat em, no matter how they were cooked. Hmmm, tasty roadkill, and why is my tongue falling off in pieces?

My dad grew up in rural Minnesota, and loved squirrel gravy.
