$3.09?? You're killing me here. That's half what I'm paying.

What kind of mileage do these get?

I am surprised to see diesel is still holding up high. At this time I'm glad I don't own one.

My diesel has been parked for a month. Cheaper to drive a Porsche than a truck.

Re: Gas Prices?

Locally our 87 octane corn squeezins is at $3.49 still. Has not dropped any more for the last week.

I would like to mention, this thread is STILL running after nearly 1,000 replies and over 100,000 views. WELL DONE Guys, keeping the thread alive and not being shut down thru any political remarks shows a bit of tempered restraint for sure.

Diesel prices kill me. Diesel is a byproduct in the gasoline production process!

Funny how things work out. In the 1800s, before the horseless carriage became a thing, gasoline was a discarded byproduct of the kerosene production process. Or so I have read.

Gasoline used to be a useless byproduct of oil refinement, where the goal was heating oil and lubricating oil. They literally pumped the "gasoline" into open ponds and burned it, as a way to get rid of it.

All of the petroleum distillates come from the same process. None of them are byproducts of each other, they just separate at different levels. Diesel is just lower on the scale, less volatile.

Diesel has been a stressed market for years . Demand is higher than the production rate when I bought my CTD diesel was less than regular . Diesel is now used as heating fuel used to be heating oil was heavier and more polluting.

Diesel is still over 5.50 a gallon here regular is 4.13

Yep! Diesel was the cheapest, bottom of the Barrel petroleum product.
I believe that diesel is refined even further than gasoline now to meet the strict guidelines put in place, AND the newer diesel owners have to ad DEF fluid on top of that! More money! more money! Glad mine is pre-def, pre-2006

Re: Gas Prices?

Holding steady at $3.79.9 for over a week since the big drop below $4. Seems like everywhere. Kinda funny some stations that run a bit higher or lower are the same as the average ones

I really don't know what's going on. After that 30 cent shock from yesterday, now I am seeing it down again, at least in some places $3.23
