2022 Vintiques NW Nationals Yakima Wa The GM trucks.

I went up and hobbled around the Vintiques NorthWest Nationals car show yesterday and here are the GM trucks I got photos of.

I'd never seen the gray and white TF before but it was nice. The Green AD with the fruit lugs around it belongs to an Orcardist and was built in a friend of mine's shop. That is one nice truck from any angle.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Shots of the green AD. The cars inside were all built by shops that sponsored or had booths at the show.

A last shot of the green AD's seat back and a pair crusty square bodies.

The cutoff for the event is 1972.

This blue AD was one of the nicest trucks I have seen anywhere.

A few more of the blue truck. Some simple but nifty details on it.

Re: 2022 Vintiques NW Nationals Yakima Wa The GM trucks.

The group with the bobber trucks seems to add a truck every year. Some mean looking stuff but I don't know if they ran in the Friday night drags.

Way out back was the short bus, a nice Black AD that may have lost it's usual spot out front and a 68 that looks like it is being worked on a bit.

Moving along out in the back we find a few more hiding out.

Re: 2022 Vintiques NW Nationals Yakima Wa The GM trucks.

The Green AD has always been a favorite of mine since it was built about 15 years ago. A friend's production body shop did the body work and paint. The truck gets driven a lot but doesn't show it.

A look at the tailgate latch and cable ( I have no idea if they are still made) and a few more trucks.

A few more. The Green Burb caught my attention as I have been thinking Burb to tow my boat.

The Square truck even had a straight six in it.

That is the bunch. I posted most everythign I saw except a couple that were hiding in the shade where you couldn't see any detals.

Re: 2022 Vintiques NW Nationals Yakima Wa The GM trucks.

Here is the link to my Smugmug album for the event. I didn't talke as many photos as I usually do because it was pretty hot and my knees were fussing.

https://robertdavison.smugmug.com/20...est-Nationals/

The event was the same time as the last of Hot August Nights in Reno so a lot of folks may have spent their fun tickets there rather than Yakima. It's also the same time as the opening weekend of Speedweek at Bonneville and a number of local cars went there only to get rained out.

Re: 2022 Vintiques NW Nationals Yakima Wa The GM trucks.

That green one would be in the running for truck of the day honors at any rod trot out of the area. It was painted close to 15 years ago but I can't remember exactly when. Not a garage queen or trailer queen as you see it all over the place all the time when he travels with his club.

A few years ago a guy asked me when I was going to paint my truck in front of Ron the guy who owned the shop that did the bodywork and paint on the green one and my reply was "when it is as straight as that green one, I'll paint it" and Ron looked at me and knodded and gave the knowing look and that was that. I don't know where the blue truck that I took several photos of came from but it is that straight as is Hogfarm's truck. Put the three of them side by side and you have to work to find a flaw.
