fuel line clips

someone help! why do these have a barb sticking out? does the barb just straighten as you tighten it to the frame? also, do the screws screw into the orange clips to hold it do the frame?

Re: fuel line clips

Green mount has a corresponding hole in the frame to keep it from twisting while tightening the bolt. Orange one just snaps into the hole

My frame didn't have a corresponding hole for the barb. I didn't use them. Found another style that I liked.

Re: fuel line clips

I just recently did these from Inline Tube. The red ones were sloppy in the holes wouldn't fit tight. I took a flat punch put it in the hanger hole insert hanger in frame and give it a good whack. It mushrooms out the end and they fit tight after that. I never used the other one still in the box.

Re: fuel line clips

I took pictures of mine at teardown. My 72 didn't use those clips at all. They weren't right for mine. All of my clips and lines were held in place by bolts and nuts.
