Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

So the winter has put a cramp in the progress and mainly in my wallet due to little work happening but in the coming summer i want to continue with the metal work on the truck getting everything straight and welded up. I want to leave all of the welds for now i wont be grinding anything down i want to get it painted with the blue and flat black rustoleum. Finish the brakes and get the motor back together and put it on the road.

I then plan to tear into the rest of the 64 first by dropping it the rest of the way i will flip the rear leaf springs and take a inch out of the front coils replacing any parts in the steering or suspension as needed along the way she will be riding dam near on the ground. will be getting a new tire and wheel combo i have the rims there steel spoke 15 inch by 10.50 and for the front 16 inch by 7.50 not sure of tire size yet. and from there rebuilding the bed and doing all of the body work and for the first time i will be painting one of my trucks the right way! I Also plan on rebuilding the inline 6 and doing dual exhaust.

After all the work on the 64 is done witch is an undisclosed date lol it will be the 4x4's turn to get the full run thought.

Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

So a while back i was asking some questions about my ignition it was made by Montgomery Ward my dad told me back in the day it was like Sears. The reason i bring this up again is when i was a kid i had some what of a news paper collection. For some reason tonight for the first time since i was about 11 i opened the box i kept it in. The paper on the top of the stack was from Aug 15th 1960 its just one section i had found it lining the bottom of a dresser draw my uncle bought from a second hand store. I found it quit entertaining just happens to be the classified section for the cars not a single one breaking 1959 or 2000 bucks! and i also stumbled along this and i thought i would share its a Montgomery Ward clearance ad for cameras, a brake job at Good Year for 1.19 and semi tires at Sears for under 22 bucks each!

Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

I think Bomp and I came to the concensus it is more about the videos showing=this is how I did it.... versus photos=this is what I did.

I hope you make more of them!
Actually I hope a lot more guys on this site start buying into this. There are so many things that people do that I have to stop and wonder, or ask, how they did that.
The Coulter-Trim is a perfect example of this.

Rock on man you still inspire me !!

thanks man i will continue on for sure the first video was a really good learning experience and got me thinking a lot on how to show more detail. I have another one in the works and just got the 4x4 into the back part of the garage so it dose not have to move back out side anymore to free the front garage.

Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

She was a tight fit compared to the 2wd the trucks about 6'3-6'4 and the opening to the back part of the garage is right at 6'5 so i barley squeaked by without bashing the roof lol!

I have to do it manually to get it right.

I just go back to my last video post, copy the text command, and enter in the new YouTube link, and movie title. Just like I did yours.
Hope this helps.

Very nice! Where'd you find that fan shroud?

Btw I would try to space that fan farther forward so at least half of the fan is in the shroud or about an inch is sticking out.
