Is this a good deal?

I found a 71 GMC Custom at a junk yard today with an air cab, 2 good doors and 2 good front fenders. There is some surface rust but overall everything is pretty clean. The only place I found rust all the way through was on the drivers side outer rocker. I can get all of it for $1200. What do you think?

Nope...

IMHO...
If that thing isn't running at least in fair condition...$1200 is a lot of money for just a body....$600-700, the most I would pay for just a body...I payed $1200 for a truck that was running but ended up being my parts truck....very junked....I bought another body for $550 and am fixing that one up. In MO I wouldn't spend that much and not from a junk yard. think about it....at the most they only payed like $100-$150 for it. Here in San Antonio Tx....you'd be luck to get $50 for taking a truck to the salvage yard.

Seems like a lot to me. I paid a several hundred less than that for my 68 and drove it home. I put tags and inpection sticker on it and drove it for 5 months until the trans went out. It is now at the tranny shop.
