Chevrolet/GMC question
I have a SWB two wheel drive frame with leaf springs. I was told it was a GMC (a guy was trying to make a 4WD and I bought the project for the parts).
Will the Chevrolet trailing arms bolt up to the chassis? Scott |

Re: Chevrolet/GMC question
You can purchase "Trailing Arm Anti Squat Brackets" that will bolt to your factory cross member (POL part # ATMB6372). The rears shock crossmember is different on a leaf truck and is not in the same location. You would also need to remove the leaf spring axle seats from you axle and weld on seats for trailing arms. Leaf spring frames do not have holes for the coil spring rear shock x-member so you would need to remove the bed, locate and drill the holes.
Coil spring conversion requires: 1. 67-72 Trailing arm x-member or Aftermarket trailing arm brackets 2. 67-72 factory coil spring shock x-member OR Aftermarket Tubular shock x-member 3. Axle seats for trailing arms OR Rear axle for trailing arms. 4. Trailing arm rear shock mounts.
