Or Lonny Moore on n. 61st (my old 'Hood) 316-744-1151 They do lots of hot rod stuff.

Good Luck!

Been hearing good things about Kansas Dry Stripping in Derby for tender stuff.
I'm friends with the guys at Kansas Dry stripping and they do excellent work. I bought the 69 fuel truck from them. He's a great guy and blasted the cab of my 57 Chevy truck for me.
If this guy doesn't work out ill try someplace else. Thanks for the options Chip!

Lonnie is great with the exception that he is REALLY busy and is very slow... Lonnie and I used to show together...

looking good, I'm on board and will be taking copious notes. Off topic, my dad "Oliver" was born in Galena, KS back in 1910. I want to get back there some day.

Re: 2 Projects 72 GMC “MISS REPRESENTED” and 68 Chevy “The Board Build”

Well ive ran into a snag on the builds for the time being. The orange cabs got a serious cab corner issue and I'm not equipped to do the intensive repair so it's going away and luckily I'll move over another cab to that frame to keep the project moving. I'll have that moved this week.

Meanwhile... I trailored Eliott929s truck back from the body shop and somehow drug (or snagged) the battery for the winch and totally ruined all the Wires, terminals and the battery... despite the fuse (I should have used 2). It saved the truck from the short but dead shorted the battery so it was toast! I spent all yesterday rewiring the trailer front to back and replaced the cracked taillights. I still need to add the side lights but it's working correct (and safely) now.

Missing the medium bronze truck I found a daily driver to replace it for the time being. Got a great deal on it so I had to grab it. It has a brand new crate motor and rebuilt transmission. I'll add a build thread on getting it on the road and doing a few upgrades to it in the next few days.

To you new guys following along be prepared to take notes cause I tend to jump around as parts, money and time allow or present themselves.
To you long haulers... I promise to make some more progress. I brought home another couple trucks to help earn some money towards the trucks.

I hope veryone had a great Thanksgiving!
As always, I thank you all for following along to make fun or encourage me! Lol

Re: 2 Projects 72 GMC “MISS REPRESENTED” and 68 Chevy “The Board Build”

I got back to work on the Orange cabs chassis. The cab is gone or at least it's sold. I am stealing the cab from the bb chassis so I can keep going. Until later this week I will have to show the only thing I got done on this truck this week was swapping out he rear springs for the stockers!

Looks like the build is moving along nicely. I've got to get my 68's cab and bed plucked off the chassis and it's off to the sand blaster for it. Gonna be a long winter.

Re: 2 Projects 72 GMC “MISS REPRESENTED” and 68 Chevy “The Board Build”

Well small updates today. I was trying to work on the 70 so I can drive it but the weather is killing me moving trucks around and getting things sorted out after my first swap meet (selling things).
So I decided with the weather Id tear the west coast mirrors apart and redo them. I pulled it all apart and cleaned everything up. Polished them and even though they are F$%d mirrors I think they are going to look real good. Don't ask me why I like them I just do.
Going to grab the hardware today so hopefully I can put them together tonight!
Anyway, enjoy the pics.

Re: 2 Projects 72 GMC “MISS REPRESENTED” and 68 Chevy “The Board Build”

Also worked on the new Posi rearend I got from Randy this weekend. (Thanks to Nick aka Nick6266 and his friend Gary for grabbing it for me). I had it blasted for $20 at my favorite place. Looks like the rusted perch will need some love this weekend from the welder. It looked much better before the 135 PIS and 1" orifice got ahold of it. Either way it will be a welcome addition to the 72 GMC. Heres the in progress pics and a closeup of the work ahead for me.
BTW: Have I mentioned Im a serious novice at welding? Bear with me if I don't impress anyone with my welding skills. More to follow but heres what I'm starting with after blasting.

Thanks Dan,
These were the pre-tear down pics, the other pics are not showing all the rust that was transferred to the stainless. It took a lot of elbow and polishing pressure to get them clean. It will look very good after final polishing and assembly. Thinking about using a rock tumbler on the hardware and dying the hardware black for a good contrast. I guess it will depend on the cost of new hardware... stay tuned. LOL

Mike this is really probably a better way to fix this problem... less time and probably about the same kind of money... ECE sells them for 39.00 a pair... They are listed under the Suspension components...

New guy from Wichita! Looking good! I bought my '69 CST/10 from a guy in either Mulvane or Derby (can't remember) back in 2002. I may have to get the number for your buddy that does the POSI work if he does good work for a good price.

Welcome to the board!
He's reasonable compared to some places I've priced. If your on Facebook there is a Wichita C-10 Club as well. Just go check it out. I love this site and so will you. My first suggestion is to read the agreement and sellers code. You will learn A Lot and it's always better to know the rules than to get corrected on them. We are having a dine and drive tomorrow if your available!
Have a good one and enjoy the build thread. I'll add some more pics this weekend.

Thanks, but I have my brakes torn apart right now. I'm just getting started on swapping out my front end for a '71. I hope to have it done by early summer, so I MA hit one up then! Trying to find a good place to get wheels for the time being.

Let me know what rims your looking for and I can maybe help you out! I have several sets of rally's, if that's what you want.
I've done several swaps like that so let me know if you have any issues.

Thanks! I am putting conversion rotors on the '71 spindles so I can keep my 6 lug rally's, but from what I'm reading, they probably won't work with disk brakes. I may be looking for some aftermarket 6 lug chrome wheels. Now, my only question is 18 or 20 inch, and how wide!?

Sorry to thread jack, bud!
