Smile Hi from Argentina

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is German (is a spanish name, nothing related to germany ) and I'm the proud owner of a 1970 Chevy C30 truck.

I also have a 1968 Nova SS wich is the love of my life (you know what I mean).

I use my truck to work, so even when its in good functional shape, it's not beautiful on the outside. I'm plan to start a full restoration soon.

Reacently I replaced the engine. For a long time it was running with a diesel 4 cylinder Nissan engine, wich is a grate engine. About 2 months ago I replaced the Nissan with a Chevrolet 250 inline 6. Here in my country GM never offered V8s so its what we got, the straight six.

Well, those are a few pictures of the C-30:

Happy new year for everyone!

Nice truck and welcome. Any chance you could get a picture of the emblems (if it has any) and i would be interested in seeing a pic of the gauges. Thanks.

Well, actually the only emblem I have is the bowtie in the hood, which is the same that used in usa models. The other emblems that GM put in the local C-30 are located in the fenders, between the door and the wheel. It says "C/30" with crome finish. I don't have any photos, but I can show you an original 1970 brochure I have. Take a look:

If you zoom in the image you can see the emblem.

Re: Hi from Argentina

About the gauges, look at this pictures. Actually besides speedometer and fuel, the other four gauges are not the originals, but I already have the originals (brand new, original GM):

Here is a picture from a catalog from GM. Its an oficial catalog with most demanded replace parts from November 1970:

Local C-30 uses the same dash that C-10. It has speed, fuel, battery, oil pressure and temperature, no tach.

A have a lot of oficial documentation from GM. GM left my country in 1978, they close the factory, pay a compensation to oficial dealers and thats it. They return here in 1994. Imagine that all documentation, original parts, brochures, etc. where going around the country, much of it lost. So recovering this pieces of history make me proud of all the material I have. Its so important to me!

Bye
