Basic Old 1964 C-10

Let me take you on a little ride with me. This year I drove my 1964 Chevrolet C-10 all up and down I-65. My truck is quite simple, 230ci 6 cylinder backed by a 3ott with stock 373 rear gear. Not necessarily set up for highway cruising in this day and age. Last winter thru the spring I was freshening up the old girl getting her ready for the summer.

Here she is when I first got her.

As you see she’s already low. The truck was built by a local shop before I got it. Already had a 2” Zeed frame, and bagged all corners with an Airlift Auto pilot V2 system. Other than that this truck is stock.
My first project was to fix the large hole in the bed and some shocks I ordered off of Amazon.

Here is son giving me hand with the bed removal.

And here she is finished product. Just and economical plywood fix. I have about $100 in the bed repair.
Bed and shocks installed

Re: Basic Old 1964 C-10

This old truck is solid with original paint and lots of patina.
Sold new in Calhoun City Mississippi the undercarriage of this truck still has lots of red dirt underneath the cab.

So any way in January I took the truck to the local pick and pull. Just wanted to drive the thing you know. First time on the expressway with the ol girl and didn’t know what to expect. The truck had plenty of rattles and the front end was pretty loose. But it was a successful trip. Made home under its own power. Also realized the truck likes to mark its spot. Rear main was really leaking bad.

I had a successful day. Found a piece I needed to fix my horn button along with some other treasures.

Nice looking 64. Since I ma a transplant, I had to look up where Calhoun City even was.
