Classic Hearbeat...the best!

Ok,...here goes. Today I went over to Wes's place to get lock cylinders for one of my trucks. You know the situation...stick the key in and you have to wiggle and sometimes cus to get the key to turn. Well, Wes had them in stock and I wanted something to do. So I pay for the parts, with the card and started talking to him about my column problem. So I purchase another part...get the card out and pay. On my way out he explains, in detail, how to remove the ignition lock...no problem. I went home and started the procedure. When I started, it was'nt a problem....45 minutes later, a different story. I decided to step away from it and go get something for dinner. Since tacos sounded good, I shopped the store and head for the checkout line. Now its my turn to pay, again....but this time no card (but I did have a backup). I'm thinkin' it has to be at Wes's place. I call, he has it and says if I hurry he'll leave a little money for me! What a guy! When I headed back over, I figured he could show me the technique to remove the cylinder. On arrival, he was sitting, smiling (almost laughing) when he handed it back to me (I deserved it). Asking him to show me he got up, walked to the truck and quickly removed and replace the lock! He said, "...they do put up a fight sometimes". A fight? He went into the fight and kicked its a#%! My switch apparently doesn't have the accessory side...maybe thats what was tougher?
Anyway, thanks Wes. You get a Kudos from me. I even bought another lock set for the other truck....maybe I can do this one on my own.

He's a lovely bloke, and your story only verifies that. I've only ever had the pleasure of talking to him on the phone....would really like to be able to meet him like you one day.

Re: Classic Hearbeat...the best!

Thanks for the kind words guys.. Not much that I have'nt ran into on these trucks. I have learned a few tricks along the way. Anyway I am happy to have changed the cylinder for you and I hope the other one went smooth for you. WES
