Plug wires, looms, brackets, and heater hose support info

Have a WTB thread going but thought i'd see what anyone here knew...

Buying small detail parts that i haven't gathered yet for my 66 327, and i saw that the wires are apparently run under the manifold, and guided by some spark plug loom wires in the back of the block?

My block has holes, but PO must've pitched the brackets. Also missing the bracket that supports the heater hoses at the heater core connection.

Does anyone know of sources for these parts besides finding used (which i'm ok with, just short on time, and would rather put those looms on BEFORE sheetmetal goes on.)


Also, for you guys running the wires under this way, if you have a partnumber for some plain jane stock style wires, please throw it up!

I'm probably going to get a ready to run distributor (black cap and scuff up the billet and make it look stock) since a) my distributor is just beat and b) the numbers cross to a 327 chevelle w/o air, so it's not original anyways. Probably end up selling it, but will still be getting a distributor that has the stock wire connections.

There should be 4 other plug wire retainers that hold 2 wires each. Those are located on the block towards the deck surface, directly between the pairs of spark plugs. You will see 1/4-20 threaded holes there.

Thanks for the info. These don't look exact, but i think two of the larger bracket and 4 of the smaller bracket could definitely be made to work?

The 2-wire Corvette ones look the same as the ones used on these trucks. But the 4-wire ones that go on the back of the block are different.


These ones from Classic Parts of America appear to be correct:

The original spark plug wire routing also used a couple of these clips (one on each side) to hold the wires down near the oil pan rail. They attach using the existing oil pan bolts: http://www.classicparts.com/1958-72-...ctinfo/83-388/


There were also a couple of 4-wire holders that attached to the engine using the rear corner intake manifold bolts. I don't think I've ever seen a reproduction of the driver side one. But there is a reproduction of the somewhat similar looking holder used on some cars ... it attaches to a valve cover bolt instead and looks like this: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....2a~Z5Z5Z5AAGRQ

I think automatics had the pass side plug wire holder spot welded to the dipstick tube (at least cars did anyway ... not sure about trucks).
