It might seem that way but, nope. The short all chrome bumper guards were definitely 67-70. If you saw a picture of 67-70 bumper guards in a '71 brochure it's because they didn't yet have a picture of the new style when they printed the brochures pre-production. I have bought both styles from the dealership and they were listed as either 67-70 and 71/72. Brochures are the least accurate photo archive of literature.

Re: Show Us Your Lits

here's a couple of pages of bumper guards from a different 71 accessory catalog, note the fine print on page 3

both pages for the cars and trucks state they have rubber inserts although the picture on the truck page does not show the rubber as the previous page for the cars does

hope that helps

Good eye. It also says only chrome and the 67-70s came painted or chrome. this could be inaccurate because I have seen a truck with white 71/72 style guards many years ago. Only that one truck, though, so owner could have painted them.

Chevrolet Engineering Center 1970 Chevy truck specifications. Looks to be a few hundred pages and covers all truck models light, medium and heavy duty.

Document holder: Original plastic document holder in great condition found on eBay. It came with a perfect* condition 1972 C10-30 owner's manual, Emission Control Systems manual, and Warranty Folder with attached Protect-O-Plate issued to John Noonan of Streator, Illinois.

*perfect - by far the most perfect I have ever seen. clearly these items were stored in heat/low humidity conditions since new

Picked up a few more, the Dealer Parts Manager's Operating Manual is a neat piece. All about setting up your dealer for parts sales and how to arrange inventory/shelving.

This setting up your dealer for parts sales and how to arrange inventory/shelving book.

It reminds me of my local parts store (That has been there for Years)

The Guy that runs it gets around slow.
There is a other Employee's there.
He still runs the show.
Last time I was in there
He let me go look for the part in a Location.

That store has been there for Years and he Knows where Every Part is.

I remember when they Flipped thru Books on the countertop to look for parts.

The good ones still do...

We have a local parts house here that still has racks of books and catalogs, even though they have a computer system too. But, more times than not, you'll see 'em dig though some of the books depending on the part. They also sell a lot of tractor and small engine parts too.

This one is kind of interesting. Lists all antenna, tape player, radio and speaker related service parts that were available. Stuff like knobs, resistors, capacitors, lenses, dials, potentiometers, etc etc

Picked up another odd booklet, GMC Model Designation 2-sided booklet for 1971 and up. Guessing only the dealers were given these, little text on the bottom says Prod. Resch. 70-2M. Covers models 1500 through 9500 and Sprint too

Not sure how it doesn't make sense, it literally decodes the GMC model number and breaks down what each character(s) mean. I did not post both sides of it so maybe thats where your strange comment stems from. But, enjoy!

Maybe back in the day, "Confidential" was something used by manufacturers. I've only ever seen it used with government info. When working in defense, info that wasn't classified by the gov in some way was designated as "Proprietary". Times change, I guess.
