Thumbs down LMC Behind the seat gas tank

I ordered a behind the seat gas tank from LMC, supposedly a direct replacement...HA!
I know, I know, go with the blazer under the bed type, but cost was a BIG factor(just getting this thing running good enough to haul and hunt with for now)

I had to beat the crud outta this thing to get it in...had to dent in the tank so it would squeeze in between the door edge and the back of the cab on the driver's side. Then, of the 4 holes on the bottom, only 2 lined up, then none of the 4 on top did, had to re-drill them to get bolts in them.

I got one from brothers, I had a time getting it in util i greased up the neck so it slide into the gas filler boot. It lined up ok, I think only one hole was out. The truck had an old tank that someone had done over but the neck had a hole in it.-the way i look at it if you just sank 3500 in an engine and all new part why go with a used 30 year old tank?

I like the tank behind the seat. That way, it doesn't rust out. Mines still like new.

Why would anyone have to replace one that sat inside the cab all these years anyway?

The previous owner had let it set up for a long time with just a smidgon of gas in it...caused the inside to rust.

The blazer tank would have been nice, but, man, this is just a truck I got to hunt out of...the wife had me trade in my S-10 for a 99 Tahoe (for her)...so I needed a truck...it's spray painted brown primer and black, plywood bed, and will probaly stay that way for a long, long time- I'm trying to get it road-worthy as CHEAPLY as possible, just to hunt and haul the occasional load to the dump or home from Lowes or something.
