Finally fixed the stripped threads on the hood on the Jimmy with a rivet nut. Cheap eBay rivet nut tool worked great.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Got the original tail light harness re-soldered and re-wrapped with non-adhesive electrical harness tape. Inserted a plug-n-play trailer harness to replace the one that was inserted with a crimp style 3-way connector. Everything is back together, works and looks much cleaner.

I have to decide what plug to put on the end of the trailer harness. Any suggestions? I don’t tow but it used to have a 4pin.

Took this monster off the Ochre K5. Weighs 165lbs! Added a chrome rear bumper to match.

new plug wires and advanced the timing. Made a world of difference. To bad 'OEM replacement' just means 'a bunch of random lengths.'

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Installed new push on door weatherstrip a few days ago. Felt good to finally work on it so I ordered the window weatherstrip that night and it all arrived yesterday. I installed passenger side today. Might do driver side tomorrow.

Drove to work this afternoon and stopped by for the dreaded Walmart visit. Picked up Subway on the way home. Would have much rather went for a drive in the local hills.

I bought unfinished msd wires last time I replaced mine. You get to make them the correct length. Nothing too hard either.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

these were 'lifetime warranty' wires installed by my brother years ago. I've done the cut-to-fit Accel kit before and liked the results. Will probably do that this fall and keep these as a backup.

Doors and Tailgate done! Now all that's left is the fenders, door jambs and windshield frame. I will be removing the windshield first though.

Thanks, it was a pain and I had to make my own brackets because I didn't like the way it fit. But I like it now.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Blazer and I resumed our (top) on again, (top) off again relationship.

This is the first time my boys (3 and 2 years old) have seen the roof off. They were rather excited jumping around in it immediately afterward.

My 3 year old races out of the house to see the topless Blazer.

Me: "What do you think, isn't cool?!"

My son: Turns and looks at me with a serious face and responds, "Why you tryin' to make your Blazer a Jeep, Dad?"

All original paint on the hood, fenders, cowl, tailgate and on the doors and tub above the trim.
