Another seat question.

I have a 53 3100. The theme of my build is street/strip. My dream is to build my version of the ultimate touring drag truck. I want to do things like drag week and tour the vintage drag circuit. I want to pull into the track and be able to change the blower pulley, rear end gears, tires, seat, and fuel system myself in less than 1 hour. Go from a comfortable street driver to a truck running in the 8's. On seats the limiting factor seems to be the width. I would be recovering it anyway so is there any reason a crazy person like me could not just narrow the seat frame of my choice? Maybe it's spring steel? Maybe you can't weld it? Why couldn't it be sleeved? It's just steel how hard could it be? You have more foam there than you would need and they could probably resew the cover too if you so desired. So now that I have solved that problem in my tiny brain could I put a 60/40 design seat in it so when I get to the track I could easily remove the drivers seat and pop in the race seat for race mode? They have silly rules about things like seats. The race seat of course would be stored on the rack in the bed between the Hoosier slicks when I was in street mode. I would also like to thank you for suffering through this long crazy post that I am now making longer thanking you.
