Is it just me?? (pic)

Or do these things look awsome without certian parts on them?
Gettin ready to drop the tranny so I can install the B&M 1900 RPM stall torque converter. It was time for fresh fluid and filter anyways.
(I have this as my new wall paper...in 1600DPI of course)

LOL..well, I been told that the stock verters are at about 100-1100 or so.
I just hope it is enough to idle in gear.
How you know he's a porn star? You a porn collector?

Thumbs up I know what you guys mean!

For my senior scrap book in high school, about 8 of the 16 pages were pics of my truck. On the first day of school nice and shiny, then in the garage with the hood up and missing the valve cover, then a pic from the front with no drivers tire, no bed wood floor, no seat/rubber floor, no radiator and so on. Come to think of it, my senior scrap book was more of a journal of my truck which is why i got a 70. Hey, i still passed!

Well, i got the verter in, didn't help with the idling in gear problem (my cam is too big) bit the sucker launches like a pit bull on speed!
I had to do the inaugural drive topless...both me, and the truck with no hood. I love it...little old lady at a stop light trying to look over my fender to see what that chrome dancin air filter might be hooked to. It grabs ppls attention like that...this is for sure. Everyone was looking, aprove, or disaprove...they knew I was there.
I kinda figured 1900 wouldn't be enough for this engine, but with 3.07 gears in the rear, I can't go much higher on the verter without having seriouse drivability problems.
This seems to be a good verter for a stock motor, or a RV cam one. You can't even tell it is there untill you really stomp the loud pedal. Otherwise, it is just as tame and docile as a stock one. So I will gove it both a and a .

What are the laws about driving with no hood. I'd really like to do it for awhile since after I've had my engine fire. (I'm not down with the spraybombed touched up spot smack dab in the middle of the hood). The only other problem I could forsee is that people will expect it to be fast (which it's really not). I might have to do it for a few days anyway!

Replaced my stock converter with a Hughes 2000 rpm model. Just like longhornmail's, it didn't increase the in-gear idle speed(and I have 18-20 inches of vacuum) but it launches better. With a 3.08 axle, I still have the same 60mph rpm on level gound, but on hills the rpm increases prox 200-300 rpm more than it did with the stock converter. Also got a polished aluminum B&M trans cooler and mounted it on the drivers side of the radiator in front of a gap in the radiator support. That thing gets hot, so hopefully it's doing its job.

As far as legality, I don't think it really matters. At least, it isn't enforced anyways.
I drove in TX like this for almost a month, and I had a few cops notice me last night...sooooo
Who knows?

One more shot of no hood...it is gettin ready to rain, and once I start teh job tomorow, there is no tellin when I'd get teh chance to slap it on...so I got it on now. I was also able to fix the hood to where I was FINALLY able to put springs on it. Tell you what, those hoods are heavy when they crash down on your noggin when the broomstick pops out. Hurts like a MO-FO.

Pic taken on the way to drop off tools at work....a chrom air filter dancing in front of you is even more distracting than just installing a tach and watching it redline!

This new verter is almost transparant on the freeway. When I smash to pedal, it seems to be just a little quicker through the RPMS. I't in town that it helps alot. The RPM's jump up right below the engines sweet spot and jumps off the line compaired to before. I'm sure the 60 foot times would still be embarasing, but before it would hardly spin a tire, now I bark accidently all the time. I got used to being able to stomp it from a stand still...can't do that now.

I've got the holeshot 2400 in my truck and I can't hardly take off from a stop w/o a bark. Now of course I need a posi so I can put my new found acceleration to the PAVEMENT and not UP IN SMOKE.
