1970 Chevy k20 front drums

Anyone know if these rear drums part number BrakeBest Select Brake Drum - 9625DGS from a dodge 3/4 ton van fit the front of my 1970 Chevy k20 with Dana 44 open knuckles front axle? I know there was an older thread but I want to make sure they fit good and work before I possibly buy them. Thanks

I am working toward this. That's what I have bought. If I beat you to it, I'll let you know.

Re: 1970 Chevy k20 front drums

At my NAPA store I was sent home with the wrong Dana60 shoes twice. I brought my shoes in and the better parts man grabbed a book that had drawings and dimensions or various shoes. For an 8-lug it's all about the diameter and surface width. Your drums should have "max dia" stamped on the back edge. Mine said 12.125", so 12" drums allowing for 1/8" machining

Re: 1970 Chevy k20 front drums

I am not sure about the open knuckle dana 44 with drums, but for my closed knuckle dana 44 on my 1967 K20, the Raybestos 2008R drums were a fit. I did have to drill out the lug holes and ream them as I have upgraded the studs to 9/16" but the drums themselves fit over the shoes perfectly. I believe that this drum was used on 1950's Chevy 3/4 tons, but I am not 100%.

Ok thanks probably won’t work I’m thinking I’ll possibly try the oreillys part number drums and see if they work if not I’ll probably return them.
