Leaf Spring/flip kit problems

i am putting in my flip kit and i replaced my leaf springs in the process. when i went to put my new leaf springs in i realized my shackles were pushed back a bit. and now my leafs look as if they are too short. i got one side in with a lot of struggling and busted knuckles. i have attached to pics to show what i mean is there an easier way to pry the shackles forward at all??

for some reason these bolts are unbelievably tight and without access to torches at the moment i cant loosen them. they move though with a crow bar they pivot but then instantly snap back into place

Re: Leaf Spring/flip kit problems

Then I guess you will need a helper to hold the pry bar while you set the front of the spring.

Re: Leaf Spring/flip kit problems

As far as I know 1/2 ton trucks only had two different spring lengths, 52in and 56in. 48in sounds way to short.

Re: Leaf Spring/flip kit problems

Your just going to HAVE to get the shackle off or loose to install the new spring.

Re: Leaf Spring/flip kit problems

Were those springs used when you got them? The top leaf looks bent.

I don't think they were used just sitting on the shelf for a while. And I don't think they are bent I think it just the picture
