My guns got stolen

Been about 2 1/2 years ago now. Scumbag opened my safe open with an angle grinder and traded my guns for meth. Meth dealer got busted, I submitted a claim to the ATF ...I just got conformation. 3 of my guns are going to be returned to me. Among those, the M1 I got from my Dad and my Grandpa's shot gun. It's a good day.

Re: My guns got stolen

That is great news. We have six M1s in our arms room for color guards, but they've been demilitarized.

Unfortunately, my collection of guns also suffered a mysterious boating accident.

That is super news. Especially since they had sentimental value.

It's just a shame there have been so many boating accidents with folks and their guns. Mine suffered a similar fate.

Re: My guns got stolen

Lol damn house fires and boating accidents. Probably two different sets of guns
Glad you got a couple the more personal specimens back. My boss had his safe raided by a couple of meth heads with ties to Sinaloa about 6 years ago. Lost 20 plus guns mostly all AR and AK variants and a bunch of tactical pistols. It was a bad day. They caught and prosecuted the guys who did it but the guns are all presumed to be south of the border.

Me… I turned all mine in for scrap so I wouldn’t hurt myself with them, they can be pretty scary after all.

Re: My guns got stolen

I'm standing outside my home right now at almost 2am reading this to help me stay awake while I discourage meth heads from stealing my neighbors catalytic converters and the homeless tweekers from stealing....well anything that ain't bolted down!
All my guns including the one on my hip were tragically lost to hurricane ida and a few had covid so I had to put them down!
Glad to hear you got some back

Re: My guns got stolen

glad your getting some important ones back!

I have an entry/vibration alarm on the safe with collectables, cameras with alert on motion, home alarm system, and a dog with big teeth that doesn't care for strangers outside the house..

fortunately for the few years we have left here, pd response is awesome and we have friends on the force that will break the speed of light to an actual call to catch a bad guy

unfortunately my boat sits outside, but it would definitely sink if I put all my guns in it

Re: My guns got stolen

Glad your getting them back . My son had a .38 detective special stolen . The gun was recovered but took almost 3 years to get it back.
No guns here lost in the flood and earthquake of 2020 .

Funny how that happens so much lately

OP, That's nuts it's been almost 3 years and you're actually getting them back.

Re: My guns got stolen

Congrats. Very cool that you are at least getting some back in that there is sentimental value there. I've had prowlers on the property and lost some worn out tools, but nothing of value so far. I did not realize they would be industrious enough to cut your safe open, but I suppose if they're cutting out catalytic converters, they've already got the tools on hand.

Yeah, that was it.

He had a fire on a houseboat, and had to save his cat, so his guns went into the murky water, never to be seen again.

My guns were lost in a flood.

Flash floods in the Ozarks are a real and dangerous thing.

Yeah, the floods are bad.

I live on top of the mountain, but, uh, I was, uh, moving my guns, yeah, that's it, I was moving my guns to a safe place, and crossin' the holler and the flood came, and I lost my guns.

BTW, all kidding aside, Greasey Harley, I'm glad your getting your guns back.

Thumbs down Re: My guns got stolen

I had a few stolen from my house, during a break-in, in December of '14. The following May, I got a call from the police, asking if I had found any of them? and informing me that they had not, at that point. They also said that this type of call was customary and that I should expect it every May. I have never heard another word from them.

My guns had asymptomatic signs of rust that they caught from my truck. Had to quarantine them at the bottom of a lake.

Re: My guns got stolen

I hope that you get them back. They recovered my wifes stolen gun. All we got was red tape. No gun. The Sheriff's Dept. has it and won't give it back. I don't get it. It was stolen from us. We've done everything possible. They brushed us off faster than a fat sweaty chick sitting next to her hot friend at a bar. Se La vie.
