U.S Border
well this latest news today won't effect most of you but the U.S Government today announced that the border closure to keep Canadians travelling by road from crossing into the U.S,due to expire tomorrow has been extended another 30 days til October 21 when they'll review it again and if the numbers don't improve,i guess extend it again.we can fly into the states but not drive?i guess it's not the end of the world but i have a load of parts sitting in Calais,Maine where my truck was for a couple of months til i got it home and have tickets again for Williamsgrove Speedway in Mechanicsburg,Pa for early October to go see the World of Outlaw Sprint cars.i had tickets for the same race a year ago and couldn't go.i guess a fella shouldn't complain cause people are sick and in lots worse shape than us,but i am getting tired of this covid mess.

Re: U.S Border
It looks like we all have problems with our southern borders.

Enjoy that world of outlaws race. Last year you would have probably seen Kyle Larson run, would have been cool to see a cup guy there. I haven’t been to a world of outlaws race in probably ten or more years. Might go to this years Cup finale, I will be for sure running my Camaro on track with a big ole pack of other Camaro’s in Phoenix in about 3 weeks.

Re: U.S Border
Does this mean that we can't get Canadian whiskey and maple syrup? That would be a drag.

Re: U.S Border
Sorry to hear the clamp is still cranked down on the border. It's back to masks for some counties here (metro area) and not the rest. I went to one yesterday, had to go back for my mask to go into Lowes. I see nothing about keeping 6' but the masks are there. A whole lot of halfass going on.
Williams Grove!!! That's where I go to watch World of Outlaws. "Pennsylvania Posse" YEEHAW!! Ole Freddy Rahmer used to tear it up, but has retired in recent years. When you get a chance to go to Williams Grove, very nearby is the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs - https://emmr.org . A very worthy stop

Re: U.S Border
I don't know about round bacon LOL!. But, I can tell you that both border issues have played havoc and mayhem on aluminum availability and pricing. A lot of extruded aluminum tubing comes out of Canada and aluminum ingots...for extrusions and flat stock...come out of Mexico.
I have been told that there is only one US plant that is extruding 5" & 6" diameter aluminum tubing and I can tell you the quality is terrible and the product cost is escalating. Thankfully, I have not had to look for 10" diameter tubing since the pandemic hit. What used to take a 2 - 5 days to land on my dock can take weeks, if not months. Supply chain issues are not just just hitting the "chip" industry. Most, if not all US manufacturing is suffering from supply chain and manpower issues. We order some air cylinders that typically took a week to get. The lead time just quoted to us is 6 - 8 weeks. One company quoted 3+ months. On the other side: Containers are stacked up on China docks waiting for boats and boats are stacked up on our west coast waiting to be unloaded. Not enough dock workers and not enough OTR drivers. FYI: There is no intention for this to be a political statement in any way. It is only meant to be informative. |

They gave us Bryan Adams, Mike Myers, John Candy, Avril Lavigne, and Deadpool... so they're kinda cool in my book

Re: U.S Border
What I liked about him the most was he was like your uncle that everyone knew that always made the most inappropriate joke at the most inappropriate time... and it was awesome
His OJ jokes on SNL back in the day were EPIC!

Same as the celebrities in LA. They have their parties and award shows without masks, but the servers/staff that are right there with them must wear one. Yet there are required of everyone in LA county? None of this is about science or even simple logic.
