Question about Band Saws

I'm looking for a GOOD band saw for my garage for fabricating Winch Bumpers, exhaust, gussets, small and big parts. I'm gonna need a vertical one but I'm not opposed to a horizontal that can convert to vertical. Any suggestions or experiences would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about Band Saws

I'd save your big bucks for a top notch vertical and start looking for a small, industrial, used horizontal.
The horizontals are so durable that they are still widely available, in very usable condition, for pennies
on the dollar. Not as versatile as a vertical but you can chuck up your part, turn on the coolant,
set the feed and walk away.

My 2 cents

Wow! Good choice! Looks Stout and an excellent brand.
Specs are impressive, especially the 13 1/2" width.

Congratulations! Do take pics and post when you get it!

Re: Question about Band Saws

One of many tools on my wish list.

I may just start with a portable band saw and make a bench mount for it.

Good choice!

Speaking as someone with a horizontal band saw I would skip it, and save for a cold saw. The speed, and the precision of the cuts just makes it silly nice to have.

Jet tools are pretty good. I have four dust vac systems for my cabinet shop. the company really stands behind the products they offer. (one motor went bad and I made the call they sent me a new one no questions asked) have fun with your new toy! cheers, Pat

Hehe---like your pics better than the websites...the real deal!
Good choice on the blade, too.
Good price and with the bi-metal technology, you should get some life.

Congrats!

Re: Question about Band Saws

just used my new ( had it for a year-long story) saw yesterday.
Pretty nice being able to walk away and let it do its thing (not too far)
Auto shut off is cool.
Happy $225 investment.

Next upgrade the blade!
