WTB: OE Exhaust hanger 3941693/3948683

Hi guys...I'm looking for the exhaust hanger/clamp assembly pictured. As best I can tell the assembly is listed as two separate part numbers (upper and lower) 3941693 and 3948683 respectively.

At this point NOS is probably a pipe dream (pun intended), but who knows what magic the new year may bring. Nevertheless, I would be very happy with a workable/restorable original should any of you have such an animal.

Similar clamps were used in the square bodies as well I believe.

Net cast. Thanks for any help.

Walker made some of the mufflers and hangers for our style trucks when new. Napa may have the old parts book for reference and then you may be able to locate old stock using their inventory nationwide search engine.

That is a good suggestion, thanks for posting...but unfortunately I have reached out to them with no luck.

I'm also on the hunt for some "one nut" 2-1/8" clamps like the ones pictured. I expected them to be easier to find. But coming up zeros on that too. I thought I'd found some on eBay recently (also pictured), but they were too large. If anybody has any ideas on that one, I'd be grateful for any help rendered.

Some of this stuff must be the same as other GM products. I am searching for 72 big block exhaust hanger pieces. What vehicle was that hanger you pictured used on? You might try dealers that deal in other GM lines.

Another good suggestion. I have only tried through Chevrolet or GMC dealerships. I do think GM's dealer network is pretty well integrated, meaning if a part is out there any dealer can tell you where it is. But I do come at it from different directions (because most of the time it's the attitude of the particular parts person on the phone that matters most). I play part number roulette fairly regularly. I usually take turns calling my local Chevrolet or GMC parts counter, along with one or two older (what I'd consider legacy) dealerships in different states and go through a list of 7-10 obsolete parts. Probably 1 out of every 40-50 numbers hits (maybe less), meaning that one pops up at a dealership somewhere in the US. Often when you call that dealership, they can't find the part that the database says they have. Unfortunately at the dealer level, the parts for our trucks are obsolete and long since gone. Even older dealerships that have survived have purged their old stock.

The exhaust part numbers are many and superceded several times over in many cases. Clamps are definitely a part for which there are many numbers...and I've tried all the ones I know to try or think to be correct.

I am working on a very late 1970 Fremont K20. The pics are of a very original 1971 Fremont K20.

Thanks for posting.
