Column floor mount help

Anyone know where I can pick up a steering column mount for the floor. Pretty much starting from scratch so even a picture would help. All I can find is the gasket online. I have a under dash mount but shouldn't there be something on floorboard?? Any advice would be great. Newbie with a 63 and learning as I go

Re: Column floor mount help

there is not much. I think on my '66 there is a bracket that mounts to the engine bay side of the firewall with three bolts. it has a half-circle flange. the column fits up into that half-circle and is held by a clamp I'll see if I can find a picture

Re: Column floor mount help

The peace in the picture goes on the engine side of the fire wall. There is another peace that is on the inside of the cab that holds the gasket in place. On my 62 the peace in the photo is permanently attached to the fire wall and the peace inside the cab is shaped different and they don't sell the gasket for those. I think you will have to find those parts used.

Re: Column floor mount help

This is the piece that the column goes through at the base of the firewall. I believe the gasket you found on line is for this piece.

Re: Column floor mount help

So this is what I mentioned before the photo above posted by Mjminino is the peace like I have. They do not sell a rubber gasket that works for that peace. In the photo with the three steering columns. The first column on the far left has the peace that they do sell a rubber gasket for. The peaces are specific for the hole that you have in your fire wall.
