Thumbs up Re: Gas Prices?

Gas here in Garden City SC jumped .08 cents night before last. It's up to $2.59 now.

I know why, just don't know why!
I don't let it stop me from going because of it but it sure pisses me off. I have to travel between the 2 houses which is a 5hr ride each way so I burn a lot of fuel.

I have a trailer loaded with a cart to carry home tomorrow and then drive the Ramp truck back in a week for the car show. Oh how fun it will be.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Paul had the right idea. Can't control it. I got a kick out of the guys getting beat up by the gas increase when driving motorhomes and commuting to their second homes.

I am on the same page as you ,,I was thinking that my truck is the last one I ever will need ,with only using it for pulling the TT ,, and hauling something to big for the car once in awhile,,
Now. I am thinking that gas trucks might be but only few years away and be obsolete and gas would be sky high ,,
With electric trucks would be takin over. if so ,,that would make my truck worthless to sell .. I am not scared to death over what may come ,, but it sure will take a toll on a lot of people with high cost trucks and cars

Electric just ain't gonna work for stuff like fire trucks and ambulances so fuel ain't going away completely.

By the way. Because of this thread. I checked the gas prices here today. $4.09 a gallon. Gas is expensive here.

It's a good thing that the gas station sells beer too. I needed one after paying for the gas.

True. The price of fuel dictates the price of everything. If fuel goes up. The price of everything goes up.

Not at all surprised at the cost per gallon in Germany. I spent 14 months in Germany near Frankfurt (actually stationed in Buedingen) courtesy of my Uncle Sam and the 3rd Armored Division. This was in early 1968 and 1969. Even then gas was above $2.00 a US gallon while here in the States it was perhaps maybe $0.30 cents or so per gallon?

And yes, I will agree there is nothing Average Joe can do about gas and diesel costs but it sure does contribute to the "trickle down economics" bit when the rising fuel costs get added to everything that is moved by gas and diesel equipment. If your at the lower end of the wage spectrum, percentage wise it hurts more that at the higher end.

Yeah, but when they successfully decrease the amount of gasoline purchased where will the money come from to prop up the clean energy sources? You guessed it, another tax or tax increase.

Couple fuel increases with minimum wage increases and the average person and family is about to see a huge decrease in their standard of living. Don't expect to see a cashier at any store any longer and no telling how many other people jobs will become automated. The person that was making $11 an hour is probably going to have a lower standard of living at $15 an hour, if they have a job at all.

Nothing political, just plain economics.

Re: Gas Prices?

Mc Donalds just came out with the $15.00 menu .

A regular small burger , small fries and a small coke . Add cheese for $3.50

They have easy financing if you want to bring your family !

Funny you bring this up.. Here is a chart to look at. The crude prices dictate it all.

Re: Gas Prices?

Just jumped again, now at $2.79 gallon for 87 octane ethanol. I'm sure it will go higher as we get closer to the "driving season". Almost as assured as the sleepy days after the time change, LOL>

Re: Gas Prices?

I only slightly regret buying a turbo powered daily. Premium is recommended, but after some fuel trials, it definitely does not like regular, so that's become a no no, but runs completely normal on mid-grade. I can tell when my wife forgets and puts regular in it, so I try to be the one to fill it up.

My biggest disappointment is between work and my shop build and sneaking in some home reno stuff, I've had zero time to burn through all that cheap gas last year. I put maybe 1500 miles on the C10 and maybe 3000 on the Mustang. Usually a lot higher for both.

The dreaded "Summer Blend". You're right. It'll hit 5 bucks. Welcome to California.
