I am only using the 34 for offroading and times when i want the look. I scored the set used for 250. they are by ply and swampers wear out fast.

So i mounted them on the rallie wheels and the wagons are gonna keep the 31's for street driving.

I mounted the swampers by Hand with two tire tirons. Not easy but saved me over haviong a shop mount them.

Well when the flip is done and the shackle added you get roughly4.5 to 5 inches of lift. I chose this instead of rear lift springs. These ride like stock and I maintain my stock load carry rating. This is important because this is a TRUCK that will be used like a truck. I have nothing against those who lift and street drive or buil a radical offroader that needs to be trailereed to the trail...
I don't much care for the ride of a lifted truck it was done for better offraod capibilities. Not taking anything away from the lifted 4x4 show trucks or street drivers just not my style.

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

if your lookin to go higher, you could try taking your front sway bar off and get your leaf springs re-arched, that would be an easy couple of inches.

Yeah i already lost the front sway bar because i wanted more axle travel for offroading. It clears the 34's just fine with no trimming so I think the height is fine. I may swap out the front springs for some tuff courntry springs because they have a better spring rate for more flex. The idea behind the lift was for better offroad capibilites while keeping the Center of gravity as low as possible. Thanks for the tips tho

Talking Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

updates eh?

Welp we have a few. Installed a Part time kit in the np203 (shaft kit) with help from people in the 4x4 section. Works good and now i have 2wd!!!! along with the kit I installed superwinch quarter turn hubs. also added an ORD steering box brace which turned into a big project because none of the wholes in the front cross member lined up ( bent frame maybe?) But there customer service is top notch Also added factory front tow hooks. And lastly a one off diff cover guard.

I can get some pics up if anyone is interested. Also I have learned alot about np203's if anyone has a question i might be able to help....

Got alittle something special for the tail gate paint as well so stay tuned!

Yes it did. Hard to tell with the mud flaps. I could move it back if i wanted but it does not bother me. Moved it forward a quarter of an inch

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

Ditched the Np203 and Installed a np205. I made the 205 a twin stick at the same time.

Added a front Winch and winch bumper. Rebuilt the warn 8274 winch myself

I then added a Lockright Locker in the front axle and made a diff guard

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

Then while out 4x4 wheeling 70 miles from home The Th350 sucked water and died.....

THAT was no fun at all. I HATE automatic transmissions!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good thing I already had an SM465 sitting in the garage. So I converted the truck to manual. Also used a factory hydrio pedal set up for easier operation offroad. Really love the granny gear!

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

I have now decided that I want my truck to be different With the rising cost of fuel and being tired of getting ten mpg I have a few options.....

I could upgrade my current 350 with a factory tbi unit
I could swap in an LT1
I could swap in an 5.3

Alll of these options would get me fuel injection and better MPG's along with more power. But none of them get great mpg. So decided to go diesel.
After doing some searching around i really wanted a cummmins but i just can't afford one at this point in my life. Plus the added weight would mean I would need to convert to 1 ton running gear which I also want to do but can't really afford right now. So I deceided to go the route less traveled and picked up a used Detroit 379(6.2L) out of a 1985 3/4 ton. These are not known to be a powerful diesel but they are known for fuel economy. The 6.2 will be an upgrade powerwise over my stock 350 and gain me mechanical fuel injection. In addition it is a bolt in set up that will not require heavy modification which will keep cost down. Also The 6.2 is kind of overlooked motor. for my application it is perfect. Also I picked this rusty motor for one main reason........ IT has a dealer installed BANKS aftermarket Turbo which i hear really wakes up a 6.2

Here is the donor truck:
