Will 71-72 Chevy Grill fit 71-71 GMC?

This has probably been asked a million times on this sight but I could not find the answer. Will this change work, is it a simple bolt in replacement? thanks

No, your 71 GMC fenders are different than 71 Chevrolet fenders.

67 GMC / Chevy - single year fender without marker light hole.
68-72 GMC / 68 Chevy - same fender with marker light hole.
69-72 Chevy - Different than prior years, with marker light hole (of course)

The difference is the front leading edge of the fender.

Post #22 will show a picture. Your 71 GMC doesn't have the indented / recessed area needed for the 71-72 grille shell to fit correctly.

Yeah, your core support and I think the grille support and possibly hood latch will be different too. Dont quote me on it though.

Just saying .. you know only one of every nine trucks that came down the assembly line were GMCs. Some people dont really like them and honestly I didn't either till I started messing with them.. they kinda grow on you.

You could do 68 chevy front end conversion (if you like that style) and keep your same GMC fenders.. but in 69+ that grille surround change made the Chevys a little different.

Hood latch is different as well. GMC release is offset to the driver side since ithas rhe bar down the middle of the grill.

To my knowledge GMC rad supports arent being repro'ed. I have seen guys on here drill the welds out of the headlight buckets off the gmc support and swap them onto a good 67/68 chevy rad support.
