I bought 100 sq ft. it was just enough, used up the scraps everywhere I could.

I also bought the double sided (reflective) jute... much better to work with than the single sided. I went way overkill with everything, but would do it all again.

I doubled up the "step" area behind the driver and passenger seat as it gets VERY hot ... I remembered that from my youth and didn't want my kids experience that same memory lol. Now after a long drive you can touch the carpet hold down with no issues.

The Al's liner has been essential since I did not get to the top's weather stripping before our mild winters here but the carpet has gotten soaked a couple times ... at least I am not too concerned with it rusting.

It is very quite and at least the floor boards stay cool.

I mentioned earlier I installed the rear interior panels, they match the seats really well and I am happy how they turned out. They cost me about $150 to do.


I also installed a McWelco storage box. Found a well used one for $80, changed the locks ($30) and used some Al's liner on it... now I have a trunk/lock box. This also prevents my rear seats from being stolen.


I installed a transfer case skid plate thanks to my brother neutering his 4x4 and this steering stabilizer

I like the lock box idea. I've been contemplating something similar for mine, but much smaller.

I agree with the lock box, but i want mine to go down the sides around the wheelhouses

I like the side boxes and would like some thing smaller sometimes, but this fit and was priced right, especially for the quality of this box. I can keep my tools locked up all the time as well as anything else like packs etc, comes in real handy with the top off. Putting large things in the back is tough, but I thought about making a folding "deck" so I could have a flat shelf across the whole back. I also put a hitch on and have a cargo carrier for the back to carrier more gear when needed. I will also be making one for the top of the roll cage when the top is off.

I put the tools, cables, straps in a padded bag, so no rattles and noise from it.

Can't wait to pull the top off here soon!

Thanks! They are made of Naugahyde with foam to raise up the panels. My local interior shop sewed them for me and intalled them on some panels I brought in. They were about $125 for the set.

I used some square plates and sandwiched the floor using grade 8 hardware. My floor was in excellent condition, little to no rust or rot. The cage rests on the floor and the plates are just under them... I made them as large as possible to cover more area and used the largest washers I could fit.

DustinU, I'm new to the Blazer community and I've been researching seats interior for what I want mine to look like. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and I want yours.

Can you please tell me what seats you used? I saw 2008 and 2002-2003 but I'd like to confirm. Also great brackets that he made for you.

Thank you and welcome! The seats are the second and third row out of a 2008 Suburban/Yukon XL, I believe most model years will work. Other than craigslist, a good place to look are limousine companies and junk yards.
