Torsion bar

Question: have new bushings for my stock front end torsion bar (1972 GMC 2500 2WD) do I need to have the truck's suspension extended with the wheels off the ground for removal? Or can I just remove with the truck on the ground?

Re: Torsion bar

Just do them on at a time on the ground, the sway arm bushings, that is.

Keep a jack around if you encounter binding just lift the frame up a little till it un-binds.
