Losing weight, the beautiful way!

Today, I finally got around to removing the old factory step bumper from my truck, and installed a chrome sport bumper (aftermarket). I was somewhat surprised by how much that old bumper weighed, especially compared to the new one. I bet I'm down a good 25 - 30 pounds.

And boy, does the chrome sport style bumper ever, ever look better! Aside from adding a lighter, this is the only mod I've done to my truck, which is in the survivor category. I'll keep the old bumper just in case someone wants the truck totally original.

Re: Losing weight, the beautiful way!

OK, OK! Right now, I only have "before" pics. But, I agree, a set of before and after pics tells the story much better. My original post was as much about how much that old step bumper weighed compared to the new one. Guess with all that weight removed from the rear, the next mod will have to be going to a posi rear gear setup.

Re: Losing weight, the beautiful way!

Interested because I have one of those big old bumpers on the rear and have thought of replacing it.
