Before I start google searching , just had a question if anyone could suggest where to buy basic pine board replacement bed boards as a whole kit . Thank you for any suggestions. It’s for a longhorn

Re: 72 Longhorn BedWood

Bruce Horkney is top notch. His cabinet shop started making bed wood kits in the '80s.

Re: 72 Longhorn BedWood

I went with mar-k and mine turned out well, exceeded my expectations.. I've even purchased another kit for my other longhorn and waiting for the world to stop long enough to finish it

several choices out there but mar-k catalogs everything thing you need for one stop shopping.. both of my deliveries were accurate..

below is from my previous posts, you're welcome to contact me with any questions you have, good luck!

more about wood finishing http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...1&postcount=10

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=724

yesterday, finished the new bed install in the ochre longhorn..

took about a week start to finish, what a heap of work!

Mar-K longhorn pine board kit, non-polished SS strips and bolt kit, rubber pads..

Jamestown Distributors Total Boat products;
2 coats deep penetrating epoxy, first 25% acetone
6 coats Gleam gloss spar varnish..

brushed, rolled, sanded, repeat, repeat.......

wire wheeled, primed and painted cross members for the new wood..

anti-seized everything and all hand assembled and hand tightened with ratchet..

all done on the truck, bed lifted up on blocks by hand where required..

mom helped a bunch! quality control, held bolts down while I started hardware, etc.

I'll save all the details for another thread but turned out fairly decent I think..

now everyone is afraid to put anything in it

ochre 71 longhorn done, red 71 longhorn and 65 C20 to go
