Aftermarket alternator bracket help

As projects go on these old boats, crap happens. So my exhaust system was failing...no prob, picked up a heartthrob kit that exits in from of the wheels. So upon disassembly the exhaust manifold studs broke (expected that one) but the castings were cracked and crumbling to pieces. Picked up replacement cast exhaust manifolds but they do not have the threaded holes for mounting the alternator. So the question (other than perhaps complaining) is has anyone found aftermarket alternator brackets that worked well? The problem is the lower pivot bracket. Short of a purchasable item it will be fabrication time.
Thanks gentlemen and happy motoring!

What about drilling and tapping yourself?

If you mean tap into the new cast manifold, there simply is not sufficient material present.

Become a paid member and post a want to buy ad in the classified section , I'd bet there are dozens of those manifolds laying in garages where they were switched out for headers .

you have the internet at your finger tips ,it doesn't get any easier to find anything you could possibly need or want .

Re: Aftermarket alternator bracket help

It's fairly simple if your heads have the accessory holes drilled. If not try to find an original set of manifolds that aren't cracked.

I have a good drivers side manifold off my 72 suburban 350, drivers side alt if it'll help you.

I truly appreciate the offer. In an effort to get this project completed I fabricated a bracket by modifying the original. Completely reversible if needed with an abrasive wheel.
So now that the alternator issue is resolved I am now facing the absence of the heat riser block (mine disintegrated) as the geometry of my heartthrob exhaust system will be upset without it. I found a company (I hope) making a full pass through block, no butterfly valve.
This can't be the first time someone needed to replace their cast exhaust manifold with an aftermarket item. Manifolds are available with threaded mounting holes, but they are of the "ram horn" variety and will not work with a heartthrob exhaust system. Surprised the aftermarket parts manufacturers haven't seen this as an opportunity, but perhaps the market it too small.

A little metal forming, welding, and painting. Finished product! Which now resides on the truck.

Oops forgot the pics
