Small Block Spark plug wires

Looking for a diagram on the Spark Plug wire routing for the 327.
The previous owner had plug wires so long, they go up around the heater hoses and down to the plugs..
I purchased a set of the OEM plug wire holders and would like to route the wires correctly.

Do you have ram horn manifolds? Do you have an HEI?

Ram Horn manifolds, original distributor.
Anyone with a pic of Spark plug routing?

Probably in the FAM. Do you have one? Maybe it's in the repair manuals that Hatzie so generously uploaded?

Re: Small Block Spark plug wires

Awesome picture. I'm redoing mine the correct way this weekend, to include putting the distributor in correct way. Someone has mine 180 out

Re: Small Block Spark plug wires

I've been working on re-routing mine on my 283. I am missing the retainers up top and found out one side still has the retainer on the oil pan while the other side still has the retainer for plug wires 2 and 4 in the motor mount. Wish it still had them all but it's just another thing...

Re: Small Block Spark plug wires

Just in case it matters 67 and back 327 283 used a short retainer on the intake passenger side. 68 up used the longer retainer

Can anyone direct me where I can get (from the pic above in previous post) all of the spark plug wire retainers and exhaust manifold heat shields that I could use with HEI?

Re: Small Block Spark plug wires

If you're lazy and don't want to make your own wires, like me Taylor Pro makes wires specifically for certain blocks. Speaking for a 402 I have no complaints.

Re: Small Block Spark plug wires

You do realize that wires for plug 1,2,3 and 4 all go under the motor mount, right?

I wanted it to be like original and ran them under the motor mounts before installing the mounts while refreshing the engine.

The pictures above are great.

Hope this helps some too. You can see the brackets on top of motor but harder to see the ones lower by the end of the heads.

Classic sells the clip to hold the 1234 longer wires close to the block/oil pan away from the exhaust . I used 1976 Corvette Hei wires and they fit under the motor mount like stock .

Nice. What size is the mounting hole Grumps? Might be an option for a headbolt, know what I mean?

The clip mounts to the oil pan , You know just a few inches below the temp sensor . Sometimes you just have to laugh !

Did you need a hug after ?

Very cool Grumps, think I'll get some.

Won't be for anything near where a temp. sender is supposed to go though, so you lost me on that one I can use those & step studs at the rear Headbolts though, as an option
