What do you think of these?

So. I'm just sitting in my garage minding my own damn business when my buddy shows up out of the blue in his really sweet C/10. That's cool. I've got plenty of beer.

He shows me this. He's getting one. Now I like the eggcrate grille on the 71/72's myself. I'm not a big fan of changing them. But I have to admit that I really kind of like this one. I'm a sucker for hide away headlights and blondes. It's pricey. About 2500 bones out the door for everything. Too rich for my blood.

I'd rather have the stock 67-68 grill myself.

Curious what kind of beer are you drinking? Myself I'm having a few Lone Star beer in a can.

I like the stock grilles myself. But I just kind of liked this setup.

I'm usually drinking Bud because I'm cheap. If I was going to drink a Texas beer it would be Shiner Bock hands down. Brewed in Shiner Texas. It's the best. But it's not exactly cheap. And I am.

Re: What do you think of these?

I will probably do the mesh inserts on my 67. I really like the hide-a-way headlight setup but it is too rich for me also.

Re: What do you think of these?

I am confused at what I am looking at here. Is this so you can remove your headlights? If so - why?

Re: What do you think of these?

I don't like store bought bolt-on custom. The factory made all that. Isn't that why 67-72s are so "discovered"?

Re: What do you think of these?

Nope. Not for me. I guess if you want to add a high-rise cowl hood and side pipes it might be the right fit.

Re: What do you think of these?

I have spent my whole life looking at these trucks (born in 69) and it's hard to appreciate them when they are too customized. My eyes are just used to seeing them rather stock looking. The hide-away heads lights just take too much away from the old look. On top of that, the grille insert between the headlights looks to industrial, to many sharp edges/corners and it looks like it protrudes forward rather than flush. I do like the subtleness of the mesh behind it though.

The custom grille and hide-away headlights do have their place, however...on a truck where most of the originality (trim, stance, wheels, interior, etc) has been customized away. It would look so out of place if it where the only part changed out of a mostly stock looking truck.
