Gap Between Box/Splash Panels and Cab

We have fabricated some splash panels (from running board to box). We have about a 5/8" gap between the front of the splash panels and the rear of the cab. Is this a large enough gap? The truck will not be carrying heavy loads. 1953 Chevy truck on S10 chassis. Thanks.

Re: Gap Between Box/Splash Panels and Cab

Thanks Joedoh. The gap on your truck looks smaller than on mine, so I should be good.

This is our first major rebuild project. I have done lots of mechanical work through the decades, but this is our first big project with lots of fabrication and body related work.

Hope to be on the road by the end of April (this year LOL)
