Tailgate prices

What is a good straight tailgate going for these days?
No dings, dents, rust or bowed top?
I have no idea what a fair price is. I have been lucky with the last five trucks I have acquired
having straight and nice tailgates.

If you open the 1967-1972 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Parts Board and click on the "Search This Forum" box (picture of location below) and just type in the word "tailgate" it will display any past and present tailgates for sale/sold there.

I paid $350 last year for an original in the condition you describe.

Re: Tailgate prices

If the top and "bottom" are straight and as described...$800 is close. Original paint take offs run more.
