Question 72 C20 reverse lights plug

I have a 72 C20 with a manual trans. The electrical plug that goes from the trans to the back up lights is trashed and im having trouble finding a replacement. Its a three prong female plug that goes on the sender on the trans. Im looking to replace the plug along with the wires that hook to it. Anybody know where i can get a replacement. I want to keep it original.

Re: 72 C20 reverse lights plug

Does your switch look like this one. The three wire plug is confusing me since you only need two wires at the switch. One is the power wire and comes from the fuse panel at the backup light fuse and goes through the firewall connector behind the distributor as a dark green wire. It runs to the switch and another lighter green wire from there to the back of the truck that feeds the back up lights. Another wire is spliced into this wire to feed the other backup light.

If you switch has three terminals then one of them is power and the other two would run to the back for each side.

The first thing to do is check the switch with a multimeter and see if it closes and opens with the shifter. If it does then you'll have to run the wires if you can't find them.

Don't confuse the backup light wire with the right rear brake/tail light wire.
If you have male spade terminals on the switch you could just use female connectors on the wires and run them individually.

here's a diagram of the rear light wiring.

Cool Re: 72 C20 reverse lights plug

You are right it is 2 connections, here are a couple pictures of what I have. I want to replace the plug and wires with oem or reproduction with the same type plug. Do you or anybody else know where I can buy them?? Appreciate your time. I have tried a lot of different vendors with no luck thus far.
