What is the best fitting A/C unit for inside the cab? I have all the other components, just need the inside cab part. The one I have now has vacuum operated valves and that has got to go

I bought the "Old Air" inside unit with the contoured under dash vent. I haven't installed it yet but they say you can retain more of your glovebox than the other ones. I also got the retro looking controls. I also have a RenCool electric compressor with remote condenser from down under.

I have installed Vintage air on a few and it works really good. The controls that came in the kit for 47-53 truck was just a simple plastic piece, works well but depending on the rest of your build you might want to build your own panel to install the switches in. 55-59 truck has an option for deluxe controls.

Lack of vacuum or ?

mr48chev, yes with the new motor the vacuum be low, and I have had both vacuum and electric valves, electric mechanical work a lot better. Also Ritchie's Machine, does not want to shorten my 9" ford rear end. guess he is just to busy, Going to go with Dutchman's Shipping will kill me

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
