Passenger Side Mirror

I see that I have put this in the build section by accident, perhaps someone can move it for me.

My 1972 GMC's build sheet says that it came with DG6 mirrors, however it now simply has one sport mirror on the drivers side and no mirror at all on the passenger side. The lack of a passenger side mirror was not really a problem until I put a canopy on it and went for a drive in downtown rush hour traffic. So I am wanting to find a mirror for that side that fits, as well a match for the drivers side if possible.

Based upon the holes for the missing mirrors, I am not sure that the doors are original, although they are definitely 1972s. The driver's side is, judging by the holes in it, on it's third mirror at least.

Measuring the driver's side, the holes for what I assume are the original mirrors come to a distance of 12 inches between the bottom two holes, and 13 inches to the top. I think so, anyway, it was hard to measure and take pictures.

On the passenger side the measurements are 7 inches across and 9 inches to the top. So... a smaller mirror?

First of all I am wondering if it is normal to have different sized mirrors on the two doors. I might expect that the passenger side would have longer arms, if anything, but it seems that it is the drivers side instead that would stick out more.

Mostly I am wanting to get mirrors on this truck as it is a daily driver, I will post a WTB ad but need to be sure that I am buying ones that fit. Do these holes represent the missing DG6 mirrors, or is/are there a different mirrors I need to be looking for in order to utilize these existing holes?

Re: Passenger Side Mirror

Both doors are 72s, they have the holes near the vents. Just puzzled by the mirror situation, it makes me think that although they are 72 doors, they are not original to THIS 72.

But, D29 for the passenger side? Thanks, that is very helpful, I will start looking for one now. I have also read that there are "1972 only" mirrors. At the end of the day I just want something that fits.
