Wow. Nobody can hate on that.

Thanks for all the pics. I keep looking in the background to see if I find anybody I know (nobody so far).

Re: SEMA photo dump

fords are really gaining popularity now that the aftermarket engine swaps are becoming popular. I really like the F1s, I have a 48 and a 52 to work on.

Honesty, I was in awe of the car, and didn't even notice the sign

Re: SEMA photo dump

It's a June Buggy! Although no June Buggy ever looked this nice.

Commonly seen in the woods of Northern Idaho in the 40's and 50's. Usually made from US surplus 6x6s with the frame shortened. Lots of them had farm tractor wheels and tires with home built wheel adapters. A short boom with a surplus winch behind the cab and one on the front bumper they made pretty good log skiders. They were the main stay of gypo loggers for years until the cheap surplus trucks were no longer available. Todays modern rubber tired skiders began with June Buggy's.

Matt's off road wrecker has MRAP axles if I remember correctly. Steers on both ends (or will, when it gets finished!). The frame is built from scratch, and the cab and hood are from a nice old IH dump truck. The engine is an 8.1 from a Suburban.

I worked for an old guy that had a skidder built from an old Model A dual rear wheel truck. The frame was cut off and used for a spacer where the springs would have been. As far as I know, the first real rubber tired skidders were built out in Washington from two farm tractor rear ends.

I've run a Cat 518 and a Clark 666 and 667 but I never owned one. We used little dozers and farm tractors along with a 1958 Chevy boom truck as a cable yarder.
