My Lucky Day

Well I was thinking about selling my Satellite wagon but my wife put the brakes on that. She loves it and so it stays.

But it needs a rear window. So I'm on the hunt again for the 100th time in the last 6 months. Have you ever tried to find the rear glass for a 73 Plymouth wagon? It's not easy. Not unless you want to break the bank.

I find one online. It's NOS but there's just one problem. It's $900 plus tax. (gulp).

So, I go out to the car and check out the tailgate just to see what may be involved in getting the new glass installed (like I know anything ) The guys painting the house come over and start shooting the breeze with me and I casually look at the pile of parts that the PO had put in the back that I never bothered to unload and what do I see? The back glass. It was right there. I don't know how I missed it. I looked for it and now it was staring me in the face. Score!

And I walked without my walker today. I'm shaky but I'm mobile again.

Christmas did come a little early.

Well good deal there brotherman. Yes, on all three counts. If the wife likes it, you gotta keep it. That's a free pass.

Re: My Lucky Day

I usually find the part or tool I'm missing almost immediately after I buy a new one...

Ok, I didn't. Must be your imagination. Have you checked your other vehicles for rare parts, yet?

I checked the hearse. Nothing back there but old Uncle Joe. I should do something about him. He's starting to get kinda ripe.

Tell me about it. I'm still a little clumsy after my accident. (I knock stuff over) I'm afraid to touch it.

Now I have to figure out the power window setup to see if it still works. Probably doesn't. Oh well. The next challenge.

Is there more back in there? Like maybe a set of Mopar cop car wheels and caps?

I'm not that lucky.

I'd like to run wider steelies and poverty caps on it. But I'll probably just keep the slots. I just have to find some center caps that fit them, I have center caps for U.S. mags but they're too small. They kinda sorta fit, but not quite. They'd end up on the side of the road.
