I guess I'm dreaming. Huh?

Does anyone make one?

I tried hot-air thermal welding bed liner material and it can't be done. (If you could weld liners, you could get 2 and splice the liner just like they did the bed.)

I have one in the back of mine...not that it fits or anything...

Seriously, I am still looking into plastic welding bed liner material.

If I could do this, the problem would be solved.

I tried a hot air torche and it would not penetrate the heat thru the plastic section.

I believe there are blade type plastic welders that are not totally unlike soldering irons.

I am going to call Custom and ask them about welding.

Also, I seem to recall that there is a Ford that has an 8'5" long liner. Who knows, it might be possible to fit a brand-x liner in there.

I wonder if a bed liner company might consider a limited run of Longhord liners?

Do you think they would sell in any sizeable numbers?

If you were going to do that I would just overlap them. Maybe stick them together with silicone. A clean cut edge would look better than any kind of "weld".

If the material welds, the weld, I think, would look nicer than a lap joint.

I really would want the joint to be water proof.

I suppose an overlap of 4" could be caulked real good and some sort of rivets of countersunk heads bolts could be used to clamp the joint together.

I do confess, I have a hatred for things that overlap - especially repair panels!

Who do you think is the biggest bed liner company?

Actually, sprayed on bed liners are about 1/4" thick.

There is no reason you couldn't take a bed, smooth up the contact surface with vinyl tape and use it as a mold for a spray liner.

I have handled the spray liner materials and they are as robust as an actual liner.

In fact, the 1/4" sprayed on liner might actually be too stiff to remove. (!)
